Django에서 Daum메일을 사용한 SMTP설정

대부분의 예제가 Gmail을 사용하는 것인데, 개인적으로 Daum메일을 연동해야 할 일이 생겨 기록을 남겨놓습니다

설정

메일에서 IMAP사용 설정후, 아래 설정을 settings.py에 추가합니다.
EMAIL_PORT = 465 설정이 필수입니다

EMAIL_HOST = 'smtp.daum.net'
EMAIL_HOST_USER = '<Daum ID>'
EMAIL_HOST_PASSWORD = '<Daum Password>'
EMAIL_USE_SSL = True
EMAIL_PORT = 465

기록

다음 메일의 사용설명에는 외부 클라이언트와 IMAP/SMTP연동시, 반드시 SSL을 사용하도록 설명되어있습니다.

Django의 Settings Reference의 EMAIL_USE_SSL 항목을 True로 설정할 경우, SMTP서버와 보안 연결을 사용하며, 일반적으로 465번 포트를 사용한다고 설명되어 있습니다.

허나 EMAIL_PORT설정 없이 이메일 전송을 시도하면 아래와 같은 오류를 보게됩니다

에러 로그를 보면 smtplib.py의 소켓 커넥션에서 에러가 발생하며, 이 부분에서 디버거를 실행해봅니다.

EMAIL_USE_SSL의 설명에서 일반적으로 사용한다하여 당연히 465번 포트를 사용해 줄 것으로 생각했으나, 해당 설정과는 별개로 EMAIL_PORT를 설정하지 않으면 기본 포트인 25번을 사용합니다. (Settings Reference - EMAIL_PORT)

EMAIL_PORT = 465 설정을 추가 한 후에는 465번 포트를 사용하며, 메일도 정상적으로 전송됩니다
